Hara8bu — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Hara8bu app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. Hara8bu is designed to keep your data on your device.

1. Summary
We do not operate servers that collect your personal data.
Your profile, meals, weight, goals, photos, settings and AI advice are stored on your device.
To analyze a meal photo, the App sends that photo to the third-party AI service you choose, using your own API key. This is the only outbound transfer of your content, and it happens only when you start an analysis.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking, and we include no third-party tracking SDKs.
2. Information stored on your device
The following are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us:

Profile you enter (nickname, sex, age, height, weight, activity level, goals).
Meal records (food names, calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, salt, fiber) and meal photos.
Weight entries, daily summaries, and AI advice text.
App settings, including the AI API key you enter.
3. Meal photo analysis (third-party AI)
When you choose to analyze a meal photo, the App sends the photo and a text prompt to the third-party AI provider whose API key you have entered, in order to estimate calories and nutrition. The request is made directly from your device to that provider using your key.

We do not receive a copy of your photos, your API key, or the analysis results.
The handling of data you send is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the AI provider you choose. Please review their policy before use.
The AI API key you enter is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. It is not included in backups.
4. Backups
You can optionally export a backup of your data (and, if you choose, your photos) to Files or iCloud Drive, or share it. These backups are created and stored where you choose; they are not sent to us. Backups do not include your AI API key.

5. Purchases
In-app purchases (the one-time “Pro” unlock) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase status is verified on your device via Apple’s StoreKit.

6. Children
The App is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored on your device, you control it. You can delete all data in the App’s Settings, or remove everything by deleting the App. Data you previously sent to a third-party AI provider is subject to that provider’s retention policy.

8. Your rights
Depending on your region (for example, the EU/EEA under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have rights regarding personal data. Because we do not collect or hold your personal data on our servers, requests to access, correct, or delete your data can be fulfilled by you directly on your device. 9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will always be available at this page, with an updated date.
